Once again it’s summer in Colorado, and everything is getting green and rich and luxuriant and beautiful.
A few days ago I went to the Community Garden in Arvada. Have you ever been there? If you haven’t I recommend that you go. thanks lakewood towing Company
Even if you don’t want to plant anything or grow a crop of lettuce or spinach or anything like that, it’s definitely worth a visit.
The garden is located at the corner of Garrison Street and West 57th Avenue, not far from the charm and delight of Olde Town, and it’s ringed with big trees, and filled with gardeners raking and hoeing and meditating as they worked.
Most of those gardeners were participants in the recent Sustain Arvada Festival, which took place on Saturday, May 11, in Olde Town. They were an inspiration to everyone.
Meanwhile, please remember that many events and happenings are coming up in Lakewood this month.
There will be the Colorado Carvers Club Annual Auction, taking place at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds on Sunday, June 12.
There will also be more Art Jam art classes for kids given on selected Mondays and Tuesdays in June. The cost of registration is $30 per child, and that includes everything, including all materials. For more information please call 303-953-8069, or visit www.artjammers.org.
And next month, in July, don’t forget the fabulous Windows to Heaven workshop that will be take place on July 23. There you will be able to learn all about icons and iconography and icon painting. You will have the opportunity to paint icons with watercolor paints and gold foil.
And one final notice for the blog this week: I will be taking the next two weeks off, and Cynthia McCabe will be taking my place. Cynthia, as you know, is a longtime resident of Lakewood just as I am, and so she will be able to keep you informed of everything that’s happening in northwest Denver just as well as I can.
And so until we meet again, I wish you all the best, your good friend and faithful reporter, Jackie Jade.
